growth by about a point and a half. according to the president's council of economic advisers, we would spend about $200 billion less next year because we would be paying more in taxes. consumer spending is about 70% of our gdp. up until now hundreds of republicans have been tied to the grover norquist-created pledge not to raise taxes. but current economic reality is setting in and conservatives are starting to stray with conditions. here is south carolina senator lindsey graham. >> ly violate the pledge, long story short for the good of the country only if democrats will do entitlement reform. >> that's a whole nother conversation. on the issue of taxes warren buffett has written an op-ed in "the new york times" today renewing his stire to see taxes go up on people like him and him himself. in the op-ed he says people who make between a million and $10 million should see their taxable rate go up to 30% and those who

home. >> he stole someone's car to get the tv home? >> stephanie: i don't know. the original car was in the kmart parking lot with the 2-year-old. >> he was in a different car with the tv. he jacked somebody's car to take his new tv home. >> he left his car and the kid -- >> stephanie: but it was cluttered up with a toddler. >> hey it's black friday. >> stephanie: a line cutter gets arrested at walmart in altamonte springs florida. when officers attempted to usher her out of the store she began screaming and throwing merchandise. >> as you would want to do. >> stephanie: walmart officials are breathing a sigh of relief. there were no reported injuries at a south georgia store. bedlam broke out. a cell phone deal that included a prepaid unlimited usage plan led to excitement among our customers. >> a prepaid -- >> stephanie: some say excitement. some call it a riot.

santa monica. a little bit of high-end rioting there. >> that place is so hipster. they already have windows that look like they're broken anyway. >> stephanie: that's why it is in the isn't it ironic file. eager shoppers surged in breaking the 12 foot tall door and injuring five people. the store which the "l.a. times" pointed out ironically features broken glass motifs as part of the decor. they had to treat injuries. there you are. there is your black friday stories. >> the black on billboard. >> stephanie: democrat used to be the racist party? when did that happen, mommy? i asked you to send me this story from the "l.a. times." speak of the republicans demographic problem. here is another one turning blue the article in the "l.a. times." 71% of latinos of course as we know voted for the president. 73% of asian americans did. so they pretty much lost every demographic. in addition to -- "l.a. times" writing the fact nearly three out of every four asian americans voted for obama caught most pundits by surprise. asian americans voted in record numbers in 2008 appeared to mobilize a higher turnout in 2012. everyone was talking about the african-american and latino vote. asian americans no longer a crouching tiger in the electorate the "l.a. times" writes. their political stripes are

is nwa or ice cube. >> yet they both ended up playing cops on tv. >> stephanie: ironic. okay, moving on. so bobby jindal, even on abortion he said we don't need to demonize those who disagree with us. he went on to sign the anti-abortion law. it is the policies you enact right? >> right. that's what everybody -- i think that's what this election shows is people understood that it's not -- romney was saying -- trying to put forth what he thought was a reasonable-sounding tax plan without actually saying what it was and everybody saw straight through it. >> stephanie: right. you also talked about it in relation to the affordable care act. he's going to sky up the people of the -- screw up the people of the state by the extension of medicaid. that's in a state of where 20% of its population uninsured and high rates of obesity and some cancers. that's exactly it.

senator feinstein has been in office since '92 and beat this year's opponent 62% to 38%. if senator boxer runs again in 2016 she'll have a chance to win back her title. the human rights campaign has asked actor morgan freeman to talk on same-sex marriage issues in minnesota maine and washington state. he narrates the ad that says there is a turning tide that we, as a nation, should embrace to bring about full national equality. freeman has been active this political season. you may remember that he narrated an ad for president obama touting his first term accomplishments and he donated a million dollars to the pro-obama super pac priority u.s.a. the supreme court will hear -- will decide this week rather whether or not to hear an appeal from the defenders of prop 8 in california and whether or not to take up hearing arguments on the defense of marriage act which

72% say they want the president to compromise with the g.o.p. but the same amount, 72% want the g.o.p. to compromise with the president. so it is all about getting things done when it comes especially to this upcoming fiscal cliff negotiation. majority of americans 67% want a mixed solution to heading off the fiscal cliff. and that, according to how this poll defines it is a combination of spending cuts and increased taxes on the wealthiest of americans. but expectations for all of this are very low. 67% also say that elected officials are more likely to act like spoiled children than responsible adults. also out new this morning the supreme court is letting liberty university drag the affordable care act back into court. liberty sued over the individual mandate in 2010 and when the supreme court ruled that the mandate was constitutional in june, it threw out -- but liberties contesting two other

[ ♪ "world news tonight" ♪ ] police officer quits after assassination comments about obama. i think that's probably wise. jacksonville police officer has quit after admitting he told colleagues he would volunteer to assassinate president obama. he said his comments were blown out of proportion. secret service notoriously has a bad sense of humor. when questioned by the -- >> danger of being blown out of proportion. >> stephanie: when questions by the jacksonville's office integrity unit he didn't care if a bomb killed everyone in the northeast. he said the comments were hyperbole. they weren't actual -- >> secret service not amused. >> stephanie: no, once again. wow. great story in the "l.a. times." nothing to modernize or expand offerings. it was a great piece about the whole story behind hostess. but anyway, among other things in the story it did not fail because the unions wanted it to die. this is such the republican boogie man. it failed because the people who ran it had no idea what they were doing. an attempt to blame someone else. their efforts to blame union intransigents for the company's collapse persisted right through to the thanksgiving eve press release announcing hostess liquidation when it cited a nationwide strike that crippled its operations. that overlooks the years of union givebacks and management bad faith. example just before declaring bankruptcy for the second time in eight years january 11th, hostess trebled the compensation of brian driscoll and raised other executive's pay up to two-fold at the same time they were demanding lower wages from

workers and stiffing employee pension funds of $8 million a month in payment obligations. this is like -- you know, same story every time. hostess management hasn't been able to erase the paper trail pointing to its derelictions. the company had known for a decade or more the market had been changing. did nothing to modernize its distribution line. it had gotten hundreds of dollar and had spent none of it on improvements. he closed by saying the $889 million in pension liabilities hostess ended up owing various union funds according to the bankruptcy filings accrued because hostess and its sister bakeries judged their retirement obligations to be relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things. now the bill has come to do -- hostess blames the workers for doing what they were promised. thank you. they're stealing from the union pension funds to give to triple the ceo's pay and blaming the union. >> they have to pay back. >> the record shows hostess'
